Architect Saiwen Liu Transforms Old Plant into Award-Winning Design

The Meishan Mining Smart Center, located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, is a unique project that breathes new life into a former iron mine. The mine, founded in 1959, had exhausted its resources and was slated for transformation into an industrial heritage park. Saiwen Liu's design, which won the Silver A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award in 2023, was centered around two goals: to meet the function of the existing mine wisdom command center and to enhance the overall effect of the site park.
